Cub Scouts Card- Campin Critters Cartridge

I was so happy when my neighbor asked me to make a card for their cub scouts group!  The police department did some education for their troop and she wanted to say thanks.  I just love all the little critters on the Campin Critters cartridge- they are so easy to layer and they look great!  I used google images to find the Cub Scout logo and wrote in their pack and den numbers on the logo.  The tags are a perfect way to add a stamped image- and Tim Holtz "knowledge" tag worked perfect to tie the bow on the front with some twine.  Thanks for looking!

Posted by PicasaThis is a new storage rack I purchased on as well.   The baskets are movable and you can space the brackets any way you would like, all three for $75!  The magnetic sheets panels on the right you can purchase at Michaels, they do come with a few of the round magnetic jars to stick on them as well!  I did find I needed to tape a few of them shut, especially if you plan to store things like beads in them, so if it does crash down on you, it doesn't open!  (I learned the hard way!)...  be sure to push all the air you can out of them when you close the lid- that helps a ton- then the lid won't fall off.....  gravity, I tell ya!

I had so much fun making this kitchen towel for my mother in law Kim! She has a cherry themed kitchen so Kate's Kitchen Imagine cart was perfect for this project. Just cut and print on the imagine and then iron on! The towel was purchased in a 4 pack for about $9 at Joann's. Enjoy!

One more imagine card for you!

I can't say I haven't had my fair share of headaches updating this beast of a machine from Provo Craft.  But, all in all it is very very simple to use, and if you are looking for a quick card or two to make, you can make several in 30 minutes.  This card took about 10 minutes to make.  It is from the Imagine More Cards cartridge.  I have yet to manage to get the dreaded "update" to work, so I can't use my original carts- but you can only backfill images with them anyways, so I don't see much need for it yet.  I think when Cricut Craft Room launches I will try again!

First Cricut Imagine Card!

Well, this is a trifold card.  My first!  It took a few times of cutting and folding to get it just right.  Our wonderful nanny Kelley had her tonsils out, so I wanted to make something special for her.  I used a little bit of liquid glass on the whale water spout to make it shine.  Some brads, flowers, and foam tape to complete the card.  The paper is DCWV Green Stack - my favorite!

Introducing Country Life Cartridge...

I think all my friends are "cool chicks" so it will be hard to decide who this card will be sent to.  I will have to narrow it down to one of my "Country" friends.  Oh how I miss those days of riding horses and jumping off those hay bails!  This card was inspired by the cricut magazine.  If you do not subscribe to these- run and do so NOW!  They have so many inspiring projects.  If you want to try one out first, you can order off ebay for about $7 each (plus $4 shipping).  Well worth the money!  The Card is 5 1/2 by 5 1/2 and the chick is cut at 4 inches. Have fun!  :)

Give a Hoot Cartridge Page

We had so much fun at Yellowstone one summer.  I just had to make a page using some animals, as we saw sooo many!  I thought the owl from Give a Hoot would be a perfect fit.  And the paper pack from DC is my favorite!  I think I should go buy another one!  I used brads for the eyes.  I find this is so much easier than cutting them out!

New Carts for me to explore!

I made this page using Happy Hauntings cartridge and Mini Monsters! I just love these carts!
The fun phrases with the images inside really make the page pop!

Can't wait to use this cartridge!

Thank you to Nadia for posting this card on the cricut boards!  I can't wait to use the new Country Life cartridge!  You have some great talent Nadia!

Teacher appreciation gift on Twitpic

I had so much fun coming up with a poem to attach to the board- see below.   The hands have coupons on them that she can use, such as "This is good for one big hug"! I just love making this project every year!  Buy a bulletin board at Walmart, etc.  Get some fancy letters made of chipboard or stickers and attach the teachers name to the board, I find a glue gun works best.  Have the kids submit to you one month in advance their hands, you can laminate them if you are really ambitious.  Cut the tree trunk out on your cricut.  Don't forget to add either her name or "thanks" using your design studio.  Use push pins to attach the tree to the board.  This way she can take it off and use the board for her classroom.  Enjoy!

"The Teaching Tree"
When you look at these hands what do you see?
Are you looking at bright leaves of a tree?
But take a closer look this very minute-
And notice the treasures that are found within it.
These hands can be so many things,
Maybe children who now have bigger wings?
Loving hands with an open heart,
Ready now for first grade, and off to a great start.
Whatever you make it, you can't go wrong.
Just take a little time to look and see
Where these hands have grown from,
And you'll surely agree-
Your students, the growth, and reaching their goals,
Created this for you with heart and soul.
Keep them or use them as the time shall past,
But remember you were our tree trunk that grew us so fast!
And surely you will still get to see them grow like this tree,
As you have held these hands for the past year, you see.
We chose this special present because we wanted you to know,
That we are grateful for your hard work in helping us to grow.
For your constant understanding and for always being there,
To tell us we can do it and to show us that you care!
Use these hands as they each contain a special gift,
especially if your day just needs a little lift,
Even though we are growing into first grade,
Don't ever forget the wonderful progress we all made!

Topiery Center piece

For the centerpiece, I made this easy ducky.  I used New Arrivals Cricut Cartridge.  If I have time, I think I am going to back it with some chip board with my deep cut blade.  But it seems to stand just fine. I used a bamboo stick from a pack I found at the dollar store.  I used some baby confetti pieces in the pot.   I really wish the Cuttle bug had a bigger mat area, it would of been fun to emboss it!  I used Mod Podge to apply the glitter to the pot.  I just need to apply the ribbon you see around the bottom.  Now, on to some 3D baby blocks, pics to follow for those soon!  They are almost done!

Baby Booties

I am all about saving money, and this was so easy!  I used SCAL2- which saves me from buying lots of cricut cartridges.  I googled "SCAL baby booties" and found this template.  Downloaded it into SCAL and cut.  I am not happy with the glitter, I need to do another layer, but it is getting there!  These are for the baby shower on Thursday!  I would love to make more if I have time.  They would make great candy favors!

My Weekend Crop Space!

I decided to snap a few pictures of my scrap space.  I want to lure in all of you who haven't come to take advantage of a day away!  I just love scrappin with the girls- sharing time together is priceless!  I decided to purchase some craft self healing mats for everyone and some new chair cusions!  After all, 8 hours of sitting can take a toll on your bum!  I have another room full of scrap items that I didn't get in the pictures, I try to keep all my personal items seperate for the crops.  I just love to share my paper, embellishing items, cricut, stickers, etc!  If you have no supplies, no worries, use all my items, and I only charge $5 a page- you design any way you like!  Happy Mother's Day to everyone- don't forget to spoil yourselves!

What a great day to Scrap! How to make a Cricut banner!

So, my friends are letting me host a baby shower for one our precious MOPS mommies!  She is expecting a baby girl named Maecee soon!  So, I made this banner.  I used Sweet Treats for both the circles.  I think it turned out so cute!  I used mod podge to glitter the letters, which are chip board.  The paper is card stock!  Take some ribbon and embellishments and you are done!

My weekend crop page!

What a great weekend with fabulous ladies and friends!  I ended up getting over 20 pages done in one weekend and several other cute projects!  This page was so easy and so cute!  I think I might even frame it in a shadow box or picture frame.  I used a rub on for the white title.  The buttons were attached using glue dots- I find they work the best.  If you don't have a corner rounder for your pictures then see me!  You need one ASAP!  :)  A nice touch to flowers is attaching a button in the middle or a brad.  Happy Scrappin!

I just love rainy days!

It has been raining all day today.  I just love experimenting with new soup recipes!  I knew I wanted to make it with white beans and chicken.  I decided to throw in some chicken broth and cheddar soup mix.  I had a can of Rotel, some yummy corn and spices!  I also had on hand some tortilla strips for soup.  Yummy!

(I attached the closest recipe I could find!)

Wall Art Idea!

So, I was searching for the perfect play room wall mural.  I came across this simple ABC design.  I thought I would give it a try using my Cricut and some vinyl...  will post pics soon!  Now if my playroom could just stay this clean I would be set!

Check out my latest creations!

This card was made using a cut and emboss folder on the Cuttlebug machine.  It is super easy but looks
like it took a lot of time!  I embellished with some cute buttons and used my fancy scissors to scallop the edge.
